USC needs a good week to finish well
This isn't the exact situation Pete Carroll and his USC Trojan football team wanted to be in. Sure, USC wanted everything to hinge on one game, but the hopes were that game would be on Jan. 7 and not late in November.
But after two blowout losses in three weeks, the Trojans have a season-defining game this weekend. Making the stakes even higher, the hated blue and gold from across town is heading to the Coliseum for the showdown.
A win over UCLA could give USC the right kind of momentum heading into Trojan's finale with Arizona and bowl season. A loss would be a giant chunk of salt in the quickly gaping Trojan wounds.
With a bye week to try and get over the loss to Stanford already come and gone, the Trojans are about to embark on maybe the four most important practices of the season.
