In-state linebacker has good visit

Ohio State just signed five linebacker prospects in its 2012 class but there will certainly be at least two more taken in the 2013 cycle. One in-state prospect has been targeted recently is Hamilton (Ohio) product Marcus Oliver. The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder was at Ohio State on Sunday for their junior day.
"It was really good, actually," said Oliver. "It was pretty much a normal junior day. We went and had lunch and then went around campus and stuff. I think Ohio State is definitely somewhere that I want to go now. It's all really nice. They've definitely got a lot of cool stuff and it's really nice up there."
Oliver toured the campus and facilities with the rest of the group but then spent some additional time with the coaching staff after the junior day was over.
"At the end, I got to talk to the coaches and I sat there for like an extra hour and talked to them," he said. "I liked how honest they were with me about everything. I talked to coach (Tim) Hinton and coach (Urban) Meyer. Coach Hinton said he's real interested in me. He said he would like me to be one of the two linebackers that they take in this class but he said that it might be a long process (to get an offer)."
Oliver is still searching for his first verbal offer but with some more junior day visits coming up, he may not have to wait much longer.
"I'm going to Ball State on Wednesday and I think they're talking about offering me but I'm not sure," he said. "I know I've got an invite from Illinois so I might be going up there in a couple of weeks."
Oliver is one of the faster rising prospects in the state of Ohio at the moment and is also reporting interest from schools such as Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
