Cushing’s new role

USCFootball.com Sophomore linebacker Brian Cushing struggled through his freshman year after separating his shoulder in practice. After a full recovery the New Jersey native finds himself in a new position on the defense as a standup defensive end in the modified 3-4 defense. Here is our interview with Cushing and report from Tuesday's practice.
The Arkansas game was the first time Cushing saw live action as the "Elephant" back and the results were impressive. Brian liked how he played but knows there is room to improve.
