Analyzing Arizona: The Mustafa Shakur era

March 29th, 2003. That was the day of Jason Gardner's last game in Tucson, a 78-75 loss to Kansas in the Elite Eight.

For many Arizona fans, that day was supposed to mark the beginning of a change at Arizona. Gardner, a fantastic leader and good scorer, wasn't a true point guard and the offense often went through forward Luke Walton instead.

While Gardner's teams at Arizona were very good, many thought it would be better if a "true" point guard was running the show for the Wildcats.

Enter Mustafa Shakur.
