Monday Practice Insider: Camp Opens
Fall camp kicked off with a bang as the preseason top-ranked Trojans took the practice field Monday afternoon.
Players were competing for spots as coaches barked out instructions and dished out brief snippets of praise and punishment before running off to the next drill.
Here are a few sights and sounds from the first day of practice...
The end zones of Howard Jones Field had a bit of color added to them for camp. They were painted with a large cardinal and gold No. 19 in memory of kicker Mario Danelo.
Soon after Ken Norton's first official chewing out of the 2007 fall camp (push-ups included), tight ends coach Brennan Carroll kicked off the first day with a message to the No. 1 Trojans. Tossing a football from the 30-yard line to his father, Pete, who stood 20 yards away, Brennan yelled, "Come out firing!"
