Houston (Texas) five-star quarterback Russell Shepard has more than two dozen scholarship offers, but his latest invitation to play college football is a product of his personality as much as it is his performance on the gridiron.

Shepard is a student of the game, and his research is starting to pay off.

Ask him about any school in the BCS, and Shepard transforms into a Wikipedia of college football information. College coaches are never short on introductions, but when USC linebacker coach Ken Norton Jr. was contacted by Shepard, he couldn't get a word in edgewise.
