Sawatzky is Stepping out of Uncle's Shadow

Even though Kale Sawatzky grew up in a family familiar to the Oklahoma program and has been to games in Norman for years last weekend's Red River Rivalry match-up was the first he'd been in attendance for. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound two-way star for Weatherford, Okla. is the nephew of former Barry Switzer era Sooner Mike Sawatzky and knew all about the game in Dallas but had never seen it with his own eyes.

Now that he has, his feelings were the same as most other first time attendees.

"I've been to a lot of Oklahoma home games, but it was my first time to be at OU-Texas," Sawatzky explained. "It was my first one. I liked it, it's pretty crazy down there and the new add-on makes it all the crazier and louder. Having the fair makes it even more fun."
