USC Weekend Recruiting Recap

This weekend, the Trojans rolled out the red carpet for six of the nation's top recruits.

While most of this weekend's visitors arrived already committed to USC, one did not. Who made the trip and who didn't? Find out in this week's USC Weekend Recruiting Recap.

Los Angeles (Calif.) four-star defensive end James Boyd officially visited USC this weekend after returning from Oregon State a week ago. His official visit to USC went well, although Boyd is still expected to take a trip to Washington next weekend.

Rated as the nation's No. 15 athlete, Boyd is slated to play defensive end at USC. Washington, on the other hand, has promised Boyd the chance to play quarterback. As a senior, Boyd led the state of California in passing yards with 4,266 and 44 touchdowns, while completing 62.2 percent of his passes.

On defense, he racked up 104 tackles, eight sacks and two fumble recoveries. At this point, Boyd's commitment appears to be a two team race between USC and Washington. Teammate, three-star athlete Delvon Purvis, is a late scholarship offer candidate for both USC and Washington. Sources suggest that Purvis may end up being the key to Boyd's commitment. Boyd originally committed to USC over the summer after the Rising Stars Camp.
