Patience pays off for Ebanks

WVSports.com It may be argued that Devin Ebanks is not the most valuable rookie on an NCAA Tournament team, but certainly not in the Big East. What Ebanks, the 6-foot-9, 215-pound freshman, pulled off in New York City rarely has been duplicated by any member of any Big East team, much less a first-year player who was starring in high-school all-star games this time a year ago. Ebanks, who will help lead West Virginia (23-11) against Dayton (26-7) in Round I of the Midwest Regional in Minneapolis on Friday, just returned from his hometown where in the 2-1 Mountaineer BET effort, he averaged 16.3 points and 10.3 rebounds.
