Making a statement on day one

The first day of fall camp is like Christmas for college football fans and Monday in Corvallis was a glorious site. Sunshine and 80 degree temperatures greeted players, coaches, and a good crowd of on-lookers who took in the Beavers first practice of the 2009 season.
For nearly three hours the players worked on drills in jerseys and shorts while coaches spent time reminding the players of fundamentals. The players looked to be in great condition and honestly didn't look to have missed a beat from spring camp.
There were very few surprises when the Beavers started the day, but as the practice progressed a few things jumped out.
WHO WAS THERE
- Offensive lineman John Braun from Albany (Ore) West Albany was suited up
for the practice. It was believed that Braun would be greyshirting, so seeing him on the field eary was a pleasant surprise.
