Early returns for the Notre Dame junior day recruiting weekend are positive in more ways than just comments as prospects leave town.
The Irish have secured their fourth commitment in the Class of 2013 with the pledge of three-star offensive tackle Colin McGovern, a product of Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox, Ill., who joins Rivals100 prospect Steve Elmer as commitments on the offensive line.
McGovern's father Brian confirmed the commitment to Irish Illustrated.
McGovern declined scholarship offers from Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Washington and Wisconsin in making his choice.
Notre Dame entered the picture in mid-February with a scholarship offer of its own and continued its pursuit with offensive coordinator Chuck Martin leading the charge.
Other verbal commitments for the Irish right now are defensive end Jacob Matuska and wide receiver James Onwualu.
