TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama Crimson Tide football team concluded its Tuscaloosa practices Friday morning with a brisk one and one-half hour workout.

"I thought we had a really good practice today," said Tide coach Mike Shula, "we treated it like a Thursday practice. We started early which is good to help us with the early kickoff for the game."

Alabama players will be off until Dec. 26 when they will convene in Dallas for a 7 p.m. meeting.

"We'll have a meeting Monday night and go through the same things we have been going through and fine-tune our game plan."

In other news, Shula announced that sophomore running back Aaron Johns had been dismissed from the football team "for violation of team policy, so he will no longer be with us." After playing in eight games in 2004, Johns did not see action in 2005.

Freshman defensive end Bobby Greenwood did not practice Friday, "but hopefully he will practice on Tuesday when we get back," Shula said. Sophomore wide receiver Keith Brown, who had been slowed with a sore hamstring, practiced and should be ready to continue practices in Dallas.
