The easy part is over for the 4th-ranked Wazzu men's hoop team. With their systematic demolition of North Carolina A& T in a 67-34 win in Pullman, the Cougars complete the non-conference portion of their 2007-08 season schedule and now must prepare for the onslaught of Pac-10 play. Senior guard Derrick Low, the team's leading scorer, was, fittingly, the leading scorer again for the second consecutive game, as he tossed in 19 points while junior center Aron Baynes added 10 more. Junior forward Caleb Forrest led the team in rebounds with seven.

While Low was hitting seven of his 11 shots - including four out of eight three-pointers - the nation's top-ranked defense was taking their toll on the Aggies, limiting them to 28% shooting for the evening. After an early 5-5 tie, the Cougars' defense quickly shut down North Carolina A&T in the rest of the half and first went on a 12-0 run followed by a 16-7 run that closed out the half with a comfortable 33-12 lead.

Wazzu gave the Aggies no chance at the thought of an upset with a 20-4 run to open the second half and reserves - including freshman Stephen Sauls, senior Jeremy Cross and Chris Henry played many minutes in the second half, with Cross scoring four points.

With the win, the Cougars continue to remain undefeated at 12-0 on the year - their best start in 15 years.

The Cougars will next play rival Washington at 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 5 in Seattle.
