After watching film of Andre Hunt and evaluating him in person, USC coaches believe, despite his three-star ranking, he's one of the best wide receivers available for the roster.

The 6-foot-1 receiver from Paraclete HS in Lancaster, Calif. said the Trojans pushed hard for his commitment after he impressed at a recent camp.

"They weren't pushing me to commit a long time ago," Hunt told TrojanSports.com. "I think they wanted to see me in person. That's why I went to the camp and I put my best foot forward. They just liked me there."

After that camp performance, USC's coaches made it clear to Hunt that he was a top priority.

"After the USC camp, they really were pushing me to commit," Hunt said. "I talked to my family after that and they said they were happy wherever I went and I was happy with USC. And USC, when I go on campus, it really feels like a home. And I want to be close to my family."

Once Hunt knew that USC's coaches really wanted him, he also knew he had found his school.

"I committed because USC has always been my dream school since I was a young kid," Hunt said. "But the family atmosphere was really the tipping point. Every time I was on campus, the coaches made me feel welcome. I never felt awkward or overlooked. Also knowing that my family has an opportunity to see me play right here at home is a big plus too."

After making his decision, Hunt informed USC's head coach and offensive coordinator that he wanted to be a Trojan.

"I talked to Coach Tee Martin before I committed and Coach Tee, he was really the one pushing for me at the camp," Hunt said. "He wanted me to be a Trojan. So when I called him, he was very excited. He actually gave me Coach (Clay) Helton's number. And Coach Tee told me that he loved me. So I called him too and he told me that I made him a proud coach."

Tee Martin envisions Hunt as a slot receiver that's versatile enough to help on the outside.

"They actually said I could play both inside and out," Hunt said. "I'm not a small receiver but I'm not 6-foot-5 or 6-foot-3. So they will use me at mostly the slot position because of my speed."

USC fans should take Hunt's speed seriously. He told TrojanSports.com that he's capable of a sub-4.5 40-yard dash.

And when asked if there's any chance he could take his speed and his talent to another campus, Hunt said he was set on being a Trojan.

"I don't think I'm going to take anymore visits," Hunt said. "I'm fully committed to USC."

Hunt is USC's first wide receiver commitment for the 2018 class. But he doesn't expect to be the only one. the Trojans have plenty of scholarship offers out and could take a handful of receivers for next season.

"A couple months ago, Coach Martin told me three or four," Hunt said. "But that might have changed."
