USC makes the cut for 4-star 2021 RB Evan Pryor's 'Final 6' list

USC has been on 2021 4-star running back Evan Pryor for a while, offering the highly-coveted prospect from North Carolina last July.

And the interest remains very mutual, as Pryor put out his "Final 6" list Thursday, including the Trojans along with Oklahoma, Ohio State, Penn State, North Carolina and Georgia.

Running back is an even more pressing need in this 2021 recruiting cycle for USC after it did not sign any RBs in the 2020 class, and Pryor is one of the best prospects nationally -- ranked the No. 6 RB and the No. 76 overall recruit in this signing class.

Pryor, who attends Hough High School in Cornelius, N.C., narrowed his short list from a total of 38 offers.

While he is on the opposite coast from USC, he lived in Las Vegas when he was younger and, like many running back prospects still, developed an affinity for former Trojans legend Reggie Bush.

"I used to live in Las Vegas. Around there, the team to go for was either UCLA or USC, and me being a RB I like Reggie Bush," Pryor told TrojanSports.com back in July when he was offered. "I always wanted to run like him and do the things he did. I even used to wear No. 5 for him. So when I got the offer it was like all my childhood dreams [rushed into] my brain. It was a great moment."

The key for the Trojans' pursuit of Pryor will be getting him on campus for a visit this spring or summer.

Pryor rushed for 1,130 yards and 11 touchdowns over 13 games for Hough HS last fall, averaging 6.9 yards per carry (according to MaxPreps). He also caught 38 passes for 646 yards and 8 TDs, showing the versatility and pass-catching abilities USC prioritizes in Graham Harrell's offense.

We're hoping to speak with Pryor later today, so check back for more.
