I hear they are targeting a few bigs, including Prince's teammate, Jordan Bell; Tommy Hamilton, a PF/C out of Chicago who plays club ball for Mac Irvin Fire; Torren Jones, and might be a sleeper in the Karviar Shepherd sweepstakes.
I think the Trojans brain trust realizes that after this season (if DeWayne stays) the only bigs they'll have on the roster will be Stewart, Dedmon and Gavrilovic. I'd like to see them get at least one PF and C with this class and then load up in 2014, which is stacked with talent at those positions. 2013 is historically bad for the center position.

I've seen Prince play during the last two
years and he is an excellent recruit to get, at a very precarious time
in 'SC hoops. He's a strong player for his size (about 6'5"), rebounds
well, scores well. Nice to get another local kid out of Poly, never a
bad thing.

Any comment on the 7'2" Center that has committed to USC? He played for rice last year. I am hoping we get at least one decent big out of high school rank this class. KO is doing a very bad job of getting bigs, high school or transfers IMO.

Oraby will add depth, but not set the world on fire, and he's a Jr.

As a Rice fan, I absolutely hated to see Oraby leave. Good luck with him, I think he'll be better than you think. He's been making steady progress. Very good shot blocker and he can hit mid-range jumpers and FT's as well as play in the post. He needs to reduce stupid fouls and take better care of the ball on his post dribbles, but he's a good player.
Any idea what the basis is for him requesting a hardship waiver to be eligible this year? Whispers of ugly rumors floating around various Rice message boards, and Oraby was one of 5 guys to transfer away from Rice this offseason.
