Weekend Recruiting Recap
USC' 44-24 victory over Notre Dame Saturday night brought the Trojans one step closer to a national championship berth, but off the field, Pete Carroll and his staff eye a different kind of championship.
For the first weekend of the 2006 season, the Trojans held official visits. Six of the top players in American made the trip to Los Angeles for an incredible night of football.
Washington (D.C.) Ballou defensive tackle Marvin Austin, Hempstead (Texas) wide receiver Terrance Toliver, Chicago (Ill.) Simeon defensive end Martez Wilson and Avondale (Ariz.) Agua Fria defensive end Everson Griffen arrived on campus Friday afternoon.
After a quick tour of the athletic facilities, the highly touted group of recruits made their way to Howard Jones Field for the Trojans final walk-through practice before the game. Toliver was escorted to the field by Trojan starting quarterback John David Booty. Arriving early, the two stars spoke as Booty introduced Toliver to USC's current receivers.
