Hoops Pac 10 Preview - Part II

In part two will go in depth and analyze the remaining five teams, including your UCLA Bruins. The Pac-10 has really proved its mettle with some top-notch out of conference play. If pre-conference is any indication of how the league going to be then it will be an action packed season.

With so much uncertainty coming into the season, Stanford fans have to be pretty happy with their club sitting with one loss in mid-December, even if that loss happened to be a 34 point embarrassment on their home floor to a mid-major.

Losing Dan Grunfeld, Chris Hernandez and Matt Haryasz will put some doubt in any coaches' mind, but Trent Johnson has a talented young group which he's brought along nicely with a lot of home games against inferior opponents.

Obviously imperative to get a young team some confidence, and when you're starting three sophomores and a freshman, the key is getting victories under their belts.

Of course, he does have a fair amount of talent in the young squad, led by 6-foot-8 swingman Lawrence Hill, a sophomore from Phoenix who leads the league in shooting percentage and the Cardinal in points per game at nearly 16.
