Facing the Best: Offense

As the 2007 season inches ever closer to starting for the Golden Gophers, it is time to start looking at the opponents that Tim Brewster and his team will face. It is going to be a tough road for the first time head coach as his squad will be forced to match-up against some of the best players that college football has to offer, including Michigan's Heisman Trophy candidate running back Mike Hart.

The Best:

Michigan Senior Chad Henne

If there is one word to describe Henne it is consistent. His stats have been nearly identical over his three seasons as a starter. Henne was named third team All-American in 2006. He is a likely first round draft choice in the 2008 NFL Draft.

Runner up:

Purdue Junior Curtis Painter

Painter had an outstanding 2006 throwing for a Big Ten record 3,985 yards and 22 touchdowns. He ranked seventh in the country in passing yards per game at 284.6.
