Orange keep tabs on Smith

Syracuse is still in the market for a running back in 2012, but they will also be looking for a back in 2013. They might not have to far to look as the Empire State has a solid prospect in Laray Smith.

"Syracuse is looking at me right now. I know they like me a lot and I'm hoping for an offer soon."

Even though it is early in the process for Smith he does not know about the Orange yet, but what he does know he likes.

"I think they have a great program and I also like their coaches, I feel Coach Marrone is a good guy and I can tell he put a lot of work into his team."

Right now other than the overall state of the program and coaches there is one other item that sticks out for the prospect.

"The Syracuse offense also sticks out for me. I feel like their style of offense really fits my game."

As of now Smith has not visited the Orange, but he plans to soon.

Besides Syracuse there are already a bunch of schools starting to show interest in Smith.

"Rutgers, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Buffalo have started to show interest. My only offer right now is from Connecticut."

Two of those schools have recently received visits.

"I have been to Rutgers and Connecticut so far. I think they are both good schools."

As the football season comes to a close Smith is sitting at 11 touchdowns and is hoping for more.
