Florida DL gets surprise offer from Mountaineers

West Virginia wasn't even on the radar for Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin defensive tackle Kingsley Opara until late last week when the Mountaineers offered him a scholarship. Now, the rising junior is planning a visit to Morgantown this fall for an official visit.

Kingsley hadn't heard much from the West Virginia staff before co-defensive coordinator Joe DeForest called his head coach to let him know that the Mountaineers were offering, so the news came as quite a surprise.

"It came out of nowhere. All three of my offers came out of nowhere and I didn't expect anything because I didn't hear much from them. If I got an offer I expected it would be like South Florida," he said.
