USC welcomes a healthy Havili
The hardest period for Stanley Havili came with the first game he couldn't play.
"I was watching it at one of my boy's house, sitting on the couch, meaningless talking," Havili said of USC's victory at Washington State on Sept. 30, 2006. "I was down."
The freshman fullback from Salt Lake City had fallen into the starting role after injuries to Brandon Hancock and Ryan Powdrell. But after catching four balls for 24 yards in the Trojans' third game, at Arizona, Havili broke his left fibula and was done for the season.
During the first day of fall practice on Monday, a healthy Havili provided glimpses of what he can add to the Trojans' offense as a redshirt freshman in 2007.
