Local OL hopes for offer from Eagles
Jack McDonald is one of the top line prospects in recent memory from Boston College High and the 6-foot-5, 265-pound prospect is entertaining interest from several schools around the region and beyond.
EagleAction.com caught up with McDonald to get his thoughts on the recruiting process thus far, as well as to find out what his plans are in the near future.
As it turns out McDonald will be making a return trip to BC soon.
"I've already let the BC coaches know that I'm coming to the junior day (on January 28)," McDonald explained.
"I've been e-mailing with Coach (Sean) Devine and talking to him a lot. He's been asking me a bunch of questions just to get to know me better. I've mostly been talking with him through e-mail."
As you might expect McDonald has been to BC before so he knows what the school has to offer. While some prospects would welcome a BC offer, McDonald seems to covet one.
"I've been up there a couple of times. I went to their game against Florida State and I got to meet the coaches beforehand. I got to have a meal with them and go on the field.
"I loved it. It's a really good place. It's so close to my house and all my family is right here. I would love to play there. The coaches are great and I love the school and everything about it," he continued.
If the Eagles were to offer McDonald would he consider verbally committing on the spot?
"I would definitely consider it," he said. "As of right now I don't have any offers so I'll just see what happens. I would definitely consider it."
McDonald attended a game at UConn this season and had an opportunity to meet with the Huskies' coaches.
"I've also been talking to Notre Dame and Virginia," he said. "I'm planning on going down there (to Virginia) to visit sometime. I'm not sure when yet but hopefully in the spring. If not then maybe over the summer. I just want to look at the school."
