Four years of rumors, speculation and gossip came to a rest on Wednesday morning.

Dorial Green-Beckham finally had something definitive to say about his recruitment. It was the first definitive statement he's made since cutting his list to five. It was the last definitive statement he needed to make.

"This fall, I will be continuing my education at,"Green-Beckham said before putting on a black Mizzou hat with a gold bill.

"Just the fans, the people around me and everybody that has followed me the past few years," Green-Beckham told ESPNU when asked why he chose Mizzou. "And just to stay at home."

Missouri didn't seem to be a likely landing place for the nation's top-ranked player for the majority of his recruitment. As recently as October, Green-Beckham omitted Missouri from his top list, instead naming Oklahoma, Texas, Auburn and Arkansas in an ESPN.com article.

But, momentum began to swing back to Missouri in December, when the Tigers made the cut to five. Missouri's coaching staff made an impression with a head-coach helicopter landing, followed by a Mizzou RV bus containing a handful of assistants, in mid-January. On January 26, Green-Beckham traveled to Columbia on his final official visit, and was greated by over 100 fans and students, waving banners, chanting his name and showering the 18-year old with adoration.

At the Missouri-Texas Tech basketball game on Saturday, the regular "MIZ-ZOU" chant was replaced by "MIZ-DGB."

By the end of his visit, it appeared to be a two-team race between Arkansas and Missouri. A report by the Tulsa World on Monday claimed Green-Beckham would pick the Tigers, citing anonymous sources. That report was denied by Green-Beckham's father, John Beckham.

In the end, however, it was Missouri.
