How future Huskies fared
UDUBNation.com has all you need to know about how UDub's commits performed last week.
The Recruit Roundup will be a regular feature at UDUBNation.com and it should really get ratcheted up once more schools start playing big games and we move towards high school playoffs across the country.
For now let's stick to those prospects already committed to the Dawgs.
Lavon Coleman and Lompoc (Calif.) defeated Arroyo Grande 31-0 behind the back's 170 yards on 17 carries and two scores, as we've reported. They will take on Frontier (Calif.) on Friday at 7 p.m.
Offensive tackle Andrew Basham will see action on both sides of the ball for Lynnwood in their season opener on Friday against Shorecrest.
Tumwater and defensive tackle Jaimie Bryant will square off against Shelton at 7 p.m. on Friday in their season opener.
Bellevue, which figures to be one of the nation's top teams, will put their long win streak on the line in their opener against Texas state power Euless Trinity down in Dallas. That's on Thursday night and that's where linebacker Sean Constantine will be.
Last week Dane Crane, Connor O'Brien and their Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.) teammates took down Phoenix Brophy Prep. The top team from California defeated Arizona's top squad 27-14. Nebraska-bound quarterback Johnny Stanton did most of the damage for Catholic, having a hand in all four touchdowns (two rushing, two passing), but O'Brien did connect on a 41-yard pass to his teammate on a trick play.
Oakley (Calif.) Freedom and Darrell Daniels suffered a narrow 29-27 defeat at the hands of Amador Valley. Daniels reeled in six passes for 82 yards and accounted for two of Freedom's touchdowns in a big performance.
Marcus Farria and Centennial (Ariz.) turned in a stout defensive effort and defeated Kellis 48-13 in their season opener. They'll take on Millenium on Friday.
After debating whether to return home to Washington, Daeshon Hall opted to remain at Lancaster (Tex.) for his last year of high school. Their first game is Saturday against Nolan Catholic.
San Clemente, another of the nation's top teams, defeated West Adams Prep 56-0 in their first game of the year, and Sean Harlow was a part of that.
Bishop O'Dowd (Calif.) and Kevin King kicked off their season in style with a convincing 47-21 win over Las Lomas last week. King had a big hand in that, racking up 89 receiving yards on four catches and a touchdown while rushing for another score.
Andrew Kirkland will lead Portland Jesuit into their season opener on Friday against McMinnville.
Speaking of season openers, Sammie Long and Lakes have theirs against Woodinville on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
Coming off their 2011 CIF championship, Rancho Verde (Calif.) had a let down in their opener, losing in a surprise to Elsinor (Calif.) 46-42. Poasi Moala and Demorea Stringfellow will try to help them bounce back against Heritage on Friday, but the run defense will have to improve. They surrendered 340 yards on the ground to Elsinor. Stringfellow had five catches for 124 yards and two touchdowns, one of which was a 51-yarder and the other from 13 yards out.
Fresh off his new four-star ranking, Elijah Qualls helped to make sure Casa Grande didn't have a letdown. They defeated Eureka easily, 43-14, and were never challenged.
Down in the Bayou, Caleb Tucker will lead Ouachita Parish (La.) in their season opener this Friday against Wossman.
Kicker Cameron Van Winkle and Mount Si take on Kennedy in their first game Friday.
And finally, last but certainly not least, four-star quarterback Troy Williams and Narbonne, one of the nation's top teams, still haven't kicked off yet. They'll do that this Friday on the road against Palos Verdes.
