SC visit for Bacon?

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy small forward Dwayne Bacon is No. 22 ranked basketball prospect in the Rivals.com class of 2015. He already has offers from some of the top programs in the country, but he isn't in a rush to visit any college campuses.

"I haven't been anywhere recently," Bacon said. "I've been to Florida State and UCF, but I was in the ninth grade when I took those visits."

He has an idea of a few schools he wants to visit when he gets around to it.

"I think I want to eventually visit Louisville, Ohio State and USC. Those are some big schools that I want to go check out."

Louisville and Ohio State might have the basketball tradition but Bacon has faith in what USC could become.

"I don't know a lot about USC but I know that it's in California, it's kind of close to Hollywood and it's a big school," Bacon said. "It's not a strong basketball school but since it's big school, I think I could help them become a big basketball program."

He also has faith in USC's coaching staff.

"I got to meet them and they're really good guys," he said. "I think they'll turn that program around."

But more than coaching relationships, academics or tradition, Bacon will consider two factors.

"I'm going to go somewhere that likes to run and move the ball," Bacon said. "That's the style I like to play. I also want to come in and have a chance to start or be the best sixth man I could be."

In addition to USC, Ohio State and Louisville, Bacon has more than a dozen other offers. A school that hasn't offered is also showing that they're very interested.

"Tennessee talks to me constantly," he said. "Right now, it's more than anyone else."

That's likely to change soon as Bacon is getting new offers regularly. His latest was from NC State on August 20th.
