2018 wide receiver Manuel Allen participated in USC’s Skill Position Camp back in June and impressed the Trojan coaching staff. Before he left campus, he the 6-foot-1 and 175-pound receiver had a scholarship offer from USC.

Shortly after Allen received that scholarship offer, the Rivals250 four-star prospect from Corona, Calif. Centennial HS told TrojanSports.com that USC was the favorite to sign him. Now, seven months after receiving a scholarship offer from USC and making those statements, Allen has decided to commit to USC.

“I feel like I want to stay closer to my family,” Allen told TrojanSports.com moments after he made his commitment to USC. “And it’s a great place to be at and a great atmosphere. It’s my dream school so I was going to make it happen. I’ve been thinking about it but now I finally sat down with my parents and they just said, yes sir, go ahead.”

That conversation came shortly after Allen told Tee Martin that he could be committing.

“Coach Tee Martin, he was talking to me and I said, I’m about to talk to my parents and maybe I’m about to make it happen. He said, man don’t play with me!”

Martin and Allen have developed a solid bond ever since USC offered Allen a scholarship. He’s been a regular on campus since that point.

And eventually, the opportunity in front of him at USC just seemed like the best choice.

“I just kept taking visits and they just kept telling me what I want to hear,” Allen said. “And I said II‘m just going to go ahead and commit to my dream school and that’s USC.”

But while Allen seems very high on USC and ended the interview with a “fight on!”, he does still plan to look at other schools before signing anything.

“I'm going to keep my recruiting process open,” Allen said. “I’m going to keep my options open. All my schools are still in it. I’m still keeping my options open and I’m still receiving offers from any college that wants to offer me. And I will be taking visits.”
