Colemans in Charge
It was a brief evening for offensive lineman Martin Coleman as his Huntington Beach (Calif.) Edison Chargers trounced the Los Angeles Jordan Bulldogs, 57-3.
In only a quarter and a half of work, Coleman sparked the Chargers offense by giving junior quarterback Nick Crissman plenty of time to pick apart the Bulldogs' secondary through the air. Coleman also opened up gaping holes in the running game, leading the Chargers to 231 yards rushing.

"It's amazing to have Martin there because he helps us with run and is someone we rely on in pass protection," said Crissman.
"It's allowed me to gain more confidence as a starter because I know he's going to hold down that side of the line."
The USC commit did not play defensive tackle, however, as his team led 50-0 at halftime.
With Antwoine Baker on the sideline for the Bulldogs, Crissman had no problem dissecting the Bulldog defense. In only his third start for the Chargers, Crissman threw for 154 yards and three touchdowns on 14-for-17 passing.
Impressive stats for a quarterback who only played one half of football Friday night.
Even with Coleman and Crissman putting on a show, the best performance on Friday night may have belonged to two-way standout Hunter White. White set the tone for the charger offense with a diving touchdown catch on the first drive.
White followed that up by jumping a quick out and returning the interception 19 yards for a touchdown. White finished the night with four catches for 84 yards and a handful of tackles.
"Having Hunter on the field is like having another coach on the field," said Chargers defensive line coach, Jason Peter. "In fact, Hunter probably knows our defense better then us coaches."
White teamed up with junior Earnie Sagiao to form a fearsome duo at linebacker for the Chargers. Sagiao doled out his fair share of big hits on the night. Sagiao also played fullback and caught two short touchdown passes.
Edison's top playmaker, Domonique Vinson, had a surprisingly quiet game after being a featured performer against San Clemente the week before. Vinson caught four passes for 24 yards and couldn't seem to get into the flow of the game.
The Chargers, ranked No. 3 in Orange County, did not need much from him, however.
The lone bright spot for the Bulldogs was two-way star Lavon Purvis. With Baker on the sidelines, Purvis was the Bulldogs' top playmaker. The junior linebacker/running back did the best job he could chasing down the ball carrier and trying to turn short catches into big plays.
However, the Bulldogs were outmatched and Purvis' efforts could only carry Jordan so far.
With the win, Huntington Beach Edison advances to 3-0. The Chargers begin to chew into the meat of their schedule next week when they travel to Anaheim to play Servite, followed by a match-up against Mater Dei.
Edison, which is traditionally strong up front, could make a run at a CIF title with continued improvement from the skill positions. While Vinson didn't need to contribute heavily against Jordan, he may be the key to the Chargers' success in the playoffs.
The Bulldogs will look for their first win next week against Esperanza.
