After delaying his Monday decision to signing day, 6-foot-4 and 216-pound tight end Josh Falo finally made a commitment to USC on a Bleacher Report video.

Honestly, the delay was fitting because Falo has been pursued by the country’s best football programs for a long, long time.

Falo first became a name recruit after receiving a scholarship offer back in 2014 from Colorado. He had just finished his freshman year in high school at the time and impressed the Buffaloes at a satellite camp. Since then, he’s received scholarship offers from schools across the country. That’s why it should be no surprise that Rivals.com ranks him as the 6th best tight end in the entire country.

Nearly three years after receiving that first scholarship offer and becoming a prospect to watch, Falo announced his intentions to play football at USC. The product of Inderkum HS in Sacramento, Calif. chose the Trojans over Pac-12 rivals Colorado, Oregon, along with others like Alabama and Ohio State.

The four-star prospect says he picked USC because he was impressed with the coaching staff and how they utilize players like him.

“It’s a great coaching staff and they use the talent at the position,” Falo told TrojanSports.com when asked why he had committed to USC. “Hand in the ground, off the ball, slot, flexed out, the whole nine. So it’s just amazing.

He says he started to realize USC was the place for him during his official visit. That was back on the weekend of January 13. So even then, he knew he could fit in as a Trojan.

“The coaches, the players, just everything about USC is awesome,” Falo said.

Falo eventually struggled with his decision late but picked USC. And he expects big things to happen while he’s on campus. While some top prospects in California left the state to go compete for a championship at Alabama or Ohio State, Falo thinks he can pursue that dream much closer to home.

“Get a natty, no doubt,” Falo said when asked what he expects for his team. “That’s what I expect.”
