Hurricane pledge intrigued by USC

Rivals250 four-star safety Gilbert Frierson preps at Coral Gables, Fla. HS, a school that’s been a football talent pipeline for the Miami Hurricanes.

So it should come as no surprise that Frierson is already committed to Miami. And he’s been a Cane pledge for almost a year now. But the 6-foot-2 and 185-pound prospect from the 2018 class is also open to looking at some other schools. He says he wants to hear more from the USC Trojans.

“I would love to look at them that’s a beautiful school,” Frierson told TrojanSports.com.

Frierson is a preliminary target for USC but he hasn’t been in that much contact with the Trojans. But that doesn’t seem to matter. He still hopes to have USC as a potential option.

“It’s very different than Miami and they have a great campus,” Frierson said. “It’s just very different going to Southern California from Miami.”

USC is also getting a little bit of recruiting help from Keyshawn “Pie” Young. The two are friends and Frierson says that the topic of USC football does come up when the two are around one another.

“We joke around about it when I see him,” Frierson said..
