Trojan offensive coordinator, receiver coach and recruiting coordinator Lane Kiffin has agreed in principle to become the head coach of the Oakland Raiders according to ESPN.

Kiffin was up for several jobs this offseason, including the University of Minnesota head coaching spot.
Kiffin met with the Raiders for the second time on Monday when the two parties came to an agreement to send Kiffin to Oakland.
Kiffin has been with the Trojans for six years, starting as the tight end coach. He moved up to coach receivers and then was named passing game coordinator before the major promotion to offensive coordinator when Norm Chow moved on to the NFL in 2005.
The 31 year old coach has a knack for recruiting, helping to bring players like Mike Williams and Dwayne Jarrett from the east coast to USC. He will have the first pick in the upcoming NFL draft thanks to a dismal 2-14 season by he predecessor.
Ironically, Kiffin's peer Steve Sarkisian was the favorite to win the Raiders job but reportedly turned it down. Sarkisian would rather become a head coach in college and will most likely look into that opportunity next year.
Son of legendary Tampa Bay Bucs defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, Lane moved up the coaching ranks in a hurry. After just two years at the coordinator level in college, he now has remarkably landed a head coaching gig in the NFL.
Kiffin was a quarterback at Fresno State for 3 seasons (1994-96).
He earned his bachelor's degree in leisure service management from Fresno State in 1998.
He prepped at Bloomington (Minn.) Jefferson High, where he played football, basketball and baseball.
