2018 Harbor City, Calif. Narbonne HS linebacker Raymond Scott has been committed to USC for quite sometime. But ever since he made his pledge to USC, Scott has been very open about the possibility of visiting other schools.

This summer, he plans to do just that. Scott wants to go across the country and see some of his other options.

“I’m not sure of exactly the date but I’m planning this summer, going to take a few visits, check out a few schools and see how it is,” Scott told TrojanSports.com.

It seems that USC might have competition from a Big 12 power and a school in the SEC.

“As of now, it’s just Georgia,” Scott said. “I think Oklahoma, I’m seeing and still checking out but it’s Georgia for sure and I’m looking into Oklahoma.”

But after this summer, Scott will know more about whether or not he’s really set on USC.

“Most definitely after I take all my trips, I’ll know for certain what’s going on for the future,” Scott said.

While Scott is still committed to USC, it seems that things are still a bit undecided.

“Everything is up in the air right now,” Scott said. “I’m just respecting the process and everything, reach out, going to visit things and seeing how everything is. Coaches are still trying to reach out to me and talk to me. I just want to go see and check it out, see how different programs are and everything.”

And despite the fact that he wants to some trips, Scott says he’s very committed to USC.

“It’s strong but it’s about respecting the process,” Scott said. “You have to give respect to other coaches and everything. But I’m committed and I’m a Trojan. But it’s what comes up that’s what’s best for me and my family and everything.”

Right now, Scott feels that USC is still that perfect choice.

“SC has really had my attention since I’ve been playing football,” Scott said. “It’s going to be very hard to try to change anything. There’s not really anything certain that’s there for me to switch. But I’m just looking around and seeing what’s best for me and everything.”

But with what’s looking like a small class for USC, and with so many talented linebackers in Southern California, there’s always questions about who USC will have room for. But Scott feels like a priority for the Trojans. And he’s not bothered by the fact that USC is recruiting other linebackers.

“I actually love that,” Scott said. “There’s a lot of competition. Better talent, better team. I like that we’re getting a lot of linebackers. We’ll go up there and work everything out and compete. I love competition. So that’s a great thing.”

And Scott says he’s willing to compete at any of the linebacker spots. He doesn’t know which linebacker position USC wants him at and says he wants to give it his all wherever the coaches put him. He also says Trojan coaches have not stopped by Narbonne HS in the spring yet but Scott did visit USC for the spring game. He’s currently being recruited by Clay Helton, Tee Martin and Johnny Nansen.
