The USC coaches haven't had to make any tough choices with their young cornerbacks the last couple games as injuries have left the depth chart clear.

Redshirt freshman Isaac Taylor-Stuart missed the Utah game with a concussion and as he returned last week sophomore Olaijah Griffin sat out against Washington with a back injury. Meanwhile, freshman Chris Steele made his first two starts for the Trojans.

Coach Clay Helton has said he expects Griffin to play next week at Notre Dame, meaning the Trojans' top three corners will all be available for the first time in weeks.

"I love that situation. If it's a perfect world, they all get 66 percent of the game," DBs coach Greg Burns said Wednesday.

That wasn't the reality the first few games of the season, but the dynamics may have changed a bit in that time. Steele, who received less snaps than the other two early in the season, has been stingy in coverage and ranks as the Trojans' top overall defensive back, according to PFF College.

Since a rough debut against Fresno State, when he was burned for a long touchdown, Steele has been targeted 12 times over the last four games while giving up 5 receptions for 29 yards combined, according to PFF College.

Griffin, who operated as the starter on the left side of the defense when healthy, has allowed just 5 catches on 16 targets for 80 yards over four games. And Taylor-Stuart, whom Steele was rotating in behind on the other side earlier this season, has allowed 10 catches on 17 targets for 108 yards over four games.
