Ultimately, of course, all that matters is how USC closes in this 2021 recruiting cycle, but the Trojans' new coaching staff has certainly made a strong impression over the last couple months.
That's reflected in all of the top 5s, top 7s, etc., that USC keeps appearing on for top prospects.
The latest was 4-star Rivals250 ATH Jamier Johnson, who included the Trojans in his 'Final 7' list on Monday night along with Nebraska, Ohio State, Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon and Texas.
Johnson, from Muir High School in Pasadena, has 19 offers, per his Rivals profile. He told TrojanSports.com in February that USC was recruiting him as a cornerback.
He's ranked the No. 15 athlete and No. 249 overall prospect in this class.
Johnson was one of many prospects who attended the Trojans elite junior day at the end of January and came away impressed.
"Just the environment I was in, the coaches showed me a lot of love. ... They're high in my interest level," he said then.
