5-star QB Ricky Town picks Trojans
After unofficially visiting USC a week ago and de-committing from Alabama Saturday morning, junior five-star quarterback Ricky Town arrived on campus Saturday evening to meet further with Trojan head coach Steve Sarkisian.

After a quick stop to the campus bookstore to pick up some USC gear for the family, Town announced his commitment USC via a statement to the media Saturday night.
"I'm proud to be a part of the Trojan Family! I've seen many of the top programs and what they have to offer. However, when I had the chance to get on the USC campus last week and spend time with Coach Sarkisian and his staff, I knew after those meetings that USC is where I want to be.
"The coaches are upbeat, focused and committed to winning and I completely believe in them. I chose USC because of the tradition, the academics and the incredible coaching staff. This is an amazing opportunity to be a part of something really special.
"Fight On!"
Rivals.com recruiting director Mike Farrell says the commitment is big for the Trojans.
"Ricky Town is a great get for USC especially coming off landing Max Browne in the 2013 class so the spacing between the two will be excellent. I won't speak for Town obviously but let's say it doesn't appear to be a coincidence that he committed to Alabama over USC and others but once Lane Kiffin was hired as the OC at 'Bama he flipped to the Trojans. "I think credit needs to be given to Steve Sarkisian and his staff for sure and I think they will hit a home run recruiting for USC, but Kiffin's reputation on the West Coast certainly didn't hurt this situation for Sark and company. In my opinion Town appeared to be a USC kid as long as Kiffin wasn't part of the equation and I know a few others out west who have had the same feelings."
Town becomes commitment No. 2 for USC in the 2015 class, with long time quarterback commit David Sills still on board after the coaching staff change. Whether Town affects Sills commitment remains to be seen, but having the No. 2 rated quarterback in California and one of the top quarterbacks on the West Coast both committed in an extremely deep junior class will set the tone for the Trojans.
The 2015 recruiting class will be the first that USC recruits will a full allotment of 25 scholarships since being sanctioned by the NCAA in 2011.
