Butler Countdown Begins

After receiving more than 30 scholarship offers last spring, Norcross (Ga.) wide receiver Brice Butler lost count of his college options.
Saturday afternoon, he'll only have to count to one. In front of friends, family and members of the media, Butler will announce his college destination. But before Butler chooses one, he must choose three.

At 3:00 p.m. EST on the campus of Norcross High School, Butler will bring three hats to the podium. Remaining coy about his ultimate decision, the four-star wide out wouldn't reveal which schools would be represented at Saturday's press conference.
"My decision is made, and I feel good about it" said Butler. "I'm cool and relaxed – just waiting to get things over with.
"I'll have three, maybe four hats with me at the announcement, but I'm going to wait until Saturday to show people which schools I choose from."
While rumors and speculation swirl around his pending commitment, Butler is careful not to fan the flames of internet gossip.
Having unofficially visited Penn State, Arizona State, LSU, Florida State, USC, Notre Dame, Florida, LSU, Georgia, Clemson and Georgia Tech, Butler announced in June that he would limit his focus to 10 schools.
Narrowing his list of college options to USC, Florida State, Notre Dame, LSU, Arizona State, Florida, Penn State, Oregon, Oregon State and Georgia, Butler has used the month of July to mull over his decision.
Ranked the No. 6 best prospect in Georgia by Rivals.com, Butler caught 35 passes for 680 yards and nine touchdowns in 2006. Before becoming a national recruit last spring, Butler's last name garnered more recognition than his ability to make clutch catches.
The son of Bobby Butler, who played 12 seasons as a cornerback for the Atlanta Falcons, Brice understands the anatomy of football's fickle side. Vowing that he will only officially visit the school he commits to Saturday, Butler looks forward to Sunday morning.
"I'll wake up, go to church and finally have a normal day," said Butler. "Then we have our first full pad practice of fall camp on Monday, and I can't wait. I'll have all of this behind me, so I can concentrate on playing football."
Rivals.com will cover Brice Butler's press conference live starting at 2:00 p.m. EST.
