HARBOR CITY, Calif. -- USC has its quarterback of the present and future in freshman JT Daniels. The Trojans also have their extended future presumably accounted for with highly-touted Mater Dei High School QB Bryce Young committed in the 2020 class.

But quarterback recruiting never stops, and the Trojans are also among the growing list of big-time national programs in early on Class of 2021 Narbonne High School QB Jake Garcia.

"As hard I work and as much work as I know that I've put into it, I expected it to take off, but I wasn't sure when. So I guess you could say I expected it to take off, but it took off really fast -- within basically a weekend," Garcia said of his recruitment.

He can't sign his name to a National Letter of Intent for another two-plus years still, but he already holds 10 scholarship offers, including the likes of USC, Georgia, LSU, Florida, Florida State, Nebraska and Louisville.

Garcia and Narbonne competed in a 7-on-7 tournament at USC in June, which was about the time his recruiting stock skyrocketed.

The pro-style quarterback prospect had just been to Georgia that Thursday, receiving an offer from the Bulldogs, and on Saturday he was at USC for the tournament.

Arizona State offered him in the meantime, and at the tournament he drew offers from Florida and the Trojans with LSU and Florida State jumping into the mix later.

"It's been great. Just enjoying the process, soaking it all up and just along for the ride, making the best of everything," Garcia told TrojanSports.com.

His recruitment will take on yet another level next year when he's allowed more contact with coaches, and any decision is still a ways off, but Garcia says USC certainly holds appeal for him.
