Three-star linebacker Halid Djibril has done nothing but impress during the offseason. When he camped at the Rivals 3 Stripe Camp in Los Angeles, a camp that featured some of the best linebackers on the West Coast, it was Djibril who earned linebacker MVP.

It's fair to say he doesn't think he plays like a three-star linebacker.

"I'm ready to compete and show everyone who I really am," Djibril told TrojanSports.com.

Just a couple of months after that impressive showing, Djibril impressed again in a camp setting. But this time, it was on USC's campus, in front of USC coaches.

And that showing earned him a scholarship offer from USC.

"I was playing very hard," Djibril said when asked about his scholarship offer from USC. "I was playing good, I was just playing football, honestly. I was playing good football and the coaches liked my work ethic. They like the way I played. They said I'm a very good athlete."

Johnny Nansen is recruiting Djibril to USC, and apparently for a specific position. Nansen, and his fellow USC coaches, see a versatile role for the 6-foot-1 and 181-pounder.

"They see me as a safety and a linebacker," Djibril said. "So something like a nickel."

Djibril's impressive showing and scholarship offer came on Saturday, during a busy weekend on campus of 7-on-7 tournaments and camps that led to various scholarship offers.

At the time he was an Oregon State commit. Just days after the offer, however, he backed off that pledge.

With that announcement happening so soon after the scholarship offer from USC, fans everywhere are speculating Djibril will eventually be a Trojan. It also helps that he plays football in Southern California and was born and raised in the area.

But Djibril, who's family is from Ghana, says he's not set on USC. He says that he's down to four schools.

"Colorado, USC, Utah and Washington State." Djibril said when asked about who he's considering.

That being said, USC is clearly near the top of his mind.

"I would say they're highly considered right now," Djibril said of USC. "I feel like it's a good school. I feel like I fit into the system. I feel at home when I'm there. I like the coaching staff, I like the environment and there's a lot of competition. I like competition too."

He also says a commitment to one of those four schools could come very soon.

"I'm going to leave that to my dad," Djibril said when asked about another commitment. "I have to talk to my family first. But there's a high chance I could make a commitment again soon."

Just don't expect him to shut things down completely until the very end.

"I'm for sure going to take my five official visits," Djibril said. "I want to see how other schools are and stuff like that."
