Everson to announce

Today, five-star defensive end Everson Griffen will make one of three college football programs very happy.
USC, Notre Dame and Michigan will represent Griffen's final list of choices, but with his announcement set several days in advance, there is a good chance the 6-foot-3, 265-pound All-American knows where he's going.

The Trojans received good news two weeks ago when junior defensive end Lawrence Jackson announced that he would return to USC for his senior season. However, with the Trojans ranking No. 5 in the PAC-10 in sacks, USC has made Griffen a priority recruit.
According to his mother, Sabria Scott, Griffen will announce his college decison on CSTV at 10:00 a.m. PST. While details of the annoucement remain vague, the broadcast of his commitment may not air until 12:00 p.m. PST.
Rated the nation's No. 6 player overall, Everson has contimplated a commitment to USC since his appearance at the Trojans' Rising Senior Camp last June.
"I loved everything about USC," Griffen told Rivals.com. "The coaches, the way they handled practice and the campus.
"The only reason that I didn't commit is because I want to take my time. I want to look at other schools. I was tempted to, but I didn't commit."
Griffen would be USC's fourth five-star commitment for the class of 2007.
This past season Griffen had 77 tackles and 16 sacks as a defensive end. On offense, The "Super Freak" had 1,200 yards rushing for 22 touchdowns as a running back. Living up to his nickname, he also averaged 22.67 yards a reception as a receiver.
The Avondale (Ariz.) two-way standout could easliy grow into a defensive tackle, but his speed and quickness give Griffen the potential to make an immediate impact at strongside end.
