Isaiah Collier is USC's latest first-round NBA draft pick

For the fourth time in five years, USC had a first-round NBA draft pick as Isaiah Collier was selected with the 29th overall by the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night.

Collier becomes the seventh Trojan selected in the last six NBA drafts and fourth USC first-round draft pick in the last five NBA drafts, following Kevin Porter Jr. (No. 30 overall in 2019), Onyeka Okongwu (No. 6 in 2020), Evan Mobley (No. 3 in 2021),

Collier came to USC as the top-ranked recruit in the country, out of Atlanta, and played in 27 games (26 starts) for the Trojans in his freshman season, averaging 16.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. He led USC with 115 assists, was second in scoring and third on the team with 40 steals despite missing several weeks with a hand injury

Collier was the only freshman and one of only three Division I players overall to average at least 16.0 points, 4.0 assists, have 40 steals and shoot 49.0 percent or more from the field.

USC's four first-round draft selections in the last five years is tied for the seventh-most among all NCAA programs in that stretch.

The draft continues Thursday night with the second round, as USC's Bronny James and Boogie Ellis will hope to hear their names called.
