USC trailed by as many as 18 points in the third quarter. The Trojans fell behind again by 2 points in the final minute.

Yet as they've shown throughout this shortened pandemic season, this team is never out of a game.

For third time in five games, USC rallied late for a dramatic win, this time scoring in the final minute for a 43-38 victory over rival UCLA in the Rose Bowl.

After Bruins kicker Nicholas Barr-Mira made a go-ahead 43-yard field goal to give the hosts a 38-36 lead with 52 seconds left, the Trojans immediately answered with a 56-yard kickoff return from true freshman Gary Bryant Jr. all the way to the UCLA 43-yard line.

Quarterback Kedon Slovis then connected on a 35-yard completion down the right sideline to Tyler Vaughns, who made a difficult, twisting catch with defenders around him. And on the next play, Slovis fired a dart into the left side of the end zone for an 8-yard touchdown to Amon-Ra St. Brown for the lead and ultimately the game.

Just like that, USC did it again in the final minutes -- just as it had in rallying back from 13 down late against Arizona State, and in scoring another game-winning touchdown in the final minutes at Arizona to start this season.

The Trojans stay unbeaten at 5-0 and will host Washington in the Pac-12 championship game on Friday.
