LenDale White – USCFootball.com player of the week

A new tradition has started here at USCFootball.com. Each game week several players will be nominated for the player of the week. Each nominee will be represented in a poll on The Peristyle where site subscribers will vote for their choice for player of the week. This week tailback LenDale White won in a landslide.
When White learned that he had won the award he had this to say to the fans that voted for him.

"I would just thank them a lot," White said after practice. "My fans are always loyal so I love those guys."
White also hauled in a slightly more prestigious award as he was named the Pac-10 offensive player of the week.
"It is a great honor to have, but it is mostly my linemen," White said. "They gave me all the glory by blocking their butts off. They are the ones who should really be getting the athletic award for the week."
Whenever he has a huge game like he did with 197 yards and two touchdowns, all of his friends and family from Colorado let him know that they have his back.
"You tend to get a lot of phone calls from everybody."
When Tim Davis was the offensive line coach White's favorite play was "power." Apparently with Pat Ruel coaching the line now, White's choice hasn't changed.
"It is still my favorite play," White said. "That is the one I scored my long touchdown on, in fact both touchdowns last week, so it is still my favorite play."
White is a talented tailback, but if he had to play another position he would prefer the other side of the ball.
"I would want to be out there like Darnell Bing and play some free safety."
White had his toe stepped on again and was wearing a little extra padding. He said he was fine and will for sure get a crack at the Arizona defense.
"I am practicing so I am playing."
