We have lots of recruiting updates including the Serra super safety/receiver duo of Marqise Lee and George Farmer. We also go deeper into USC's tackling woes and what they are doing to fix it and weigh in on the fall from grace of Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush.
More details of what is inside:
  • Marqise Lee and George Farmer are two-sport state champions at Serra High School and two of the hottest prospects on the West Coast. We stopped by Serra on Thursday to get the scoop on their recruitment including Lee latest offers from USC and UCLA and a potential package deal for the safety/receiver combo.
  • Palo Alto (Calif.) running back and Stanford commit Amir Carlisle will be on the USC campus when the Cardinal plays UCLA at the Rose Bowl on Saturday. Do the Trojans have a shot at the four-star running back and which player is Carlisle looking forward to seeing play the most?
  • Speaking of USC and UCLA, with both teams playing home games this weekend, they will be competing against each other for unofficial visits from local prospects. More on some of the big names that could go either way in the War Room.
  • What do Ed Orgeron, Keyshawn Johnson and Trojan defensive tackle commit Antwaun Woods have in common?
  • USC captain linebacker Malcolm Smith shares his thoughts on playing against Virginia back in 2008 and weighs in on the apparent tackling dilemma facing the Trojan defense.
  • With USC's home opener just hours away, we address some of the rumors about a plan to make practices a little more friendly towards fans and boosters.
  • We also share our commentary on the USC sanctions and how the celebrity status of Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush will never again be duplicated, at least as far as the Trojans are concerned.
  • Plus plenty more!
  • The one rule we have for the War Room is simply that everything that is reported here should stay here and on The Peristyle. Sometimes the info is sensitive enough that it simply does not need to be passed on beyond the doors of this thread.
Please honor this request and we will continue to do our best to provide all of our subscribers with a great perspective on the program.
This is a special feature for USCFootball.com subscribers only. The reason why it is posted on the premium board is that it is the only way to ensure that the info stays exclusive to the Trojan fans.
This will only work if everyone helps make it work by not copying or reprinting the information.
