One of the most intriguing subplots of this 2021 recruiting cycle for USC is to see how all the buzz for new cornerbacks coach and ace recruiter Donte Williams manifests in terms of commitments and signings.

The Trojans landed no cornerbacks in the 2020 class, and Williams has been aggressive in pursuing the top prospects at the position nationally.

One of those priority targets is 4-star Avante Dickerson from Omaha, Neb., who is ranked the No. 14 CB and No. 201 overall prospect in this class.

Dickerson told Rivals recruiting analyst Josh Helmholdt a few days ago that what was once a top three of LSU, Nebraska and Ohio State has only become a tougher decision as other programs have forced him to give stronger consideration their way.

USC is one of those programs, and Dickerson talked to TrojanSports.com on Tuesday night about the Trojans and particularly his connection with Williams.

"[He] just talked to me about education first because that's always important. USC is a good school," Dickerson said. "And then showing me how he coaches and everything like that."
