USC is still hoping to make a late surge with 2021 Mater Dei High School 4-star linebacker Raesjon Davis, who has been committed to LSU since January, but meanwhile the Trojans already look to be in strong position with a 2022 Monarchs 4-star LB.
David Bailey, who already stands 6-foot-3 and 220 pounds with 14 offers entering his junior season, tells TrojanSports.com that there is significant mutual interest between he and USC so far.
"They're talking to me the most right now out of all my offers," Bailey said. "[USC] is probably the highest right now since they're talking to me the most, showing the most interest, so I like that a lot."
There's a lot to like with Bailey, who not only already has the size to be a college linebacker but is also athletic and moves well with that frame.
Washington is the other program that has made some early inroads in Bailey's recruitment.
"That's basically the two schools I've been talking to the most," he said. "[Washington is] trying to get me down there maybe after football season."
Bailey is already familiar with USC, meanwhile. He said his sister attended the university, and he was part of a Mater Dei contingent that made a group visit to campus early this spring and took in the USC-UCLA basketball game at Galen Center.
