REPORTS: USC, Ole Miss cancel home-and-home football series

Per multiple reports, the home-and-home football series USC and Ole Miss scheduled for 2025-26 is now off.

Michael Katz, who covers Ole Miss for the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, reported the news after talking to Rebels athletic director Keith Carter, while other national reporters followed with their own reports.

Action Network's Brett McMurphy reported the decision was made mutually by the two schools.

That leaves USC with two non-conference games currently scheduled for each of those seasons -- home vs. Georgia Southern and at Notre Dame in 2025, and home vs. Fresno State and Notre Dame in 2026.

The Trojans have a nine-game conference schedule each year in the Big Ten, plus the annual rivalry game with the Fighting Irish. With that ensuring a strong strength of schedule each year, it's likely their two remaining non-conference games each season will not be against other power conference opponents.
