Towards the end of the evaluation period, Deland McCullough was frantically traveling all across the country identifying tailbacks as potential USC targets.

His travels took him to Carol City HS in Miami Gardens, Fla., the home of Rivals100 back Camron Davis.

"Coach Deland (McCullough) came and saw me," Davis told TrojanSports.com. "He came down just to see me, see how my size is and to see what they were looking for."

McCullough identified Davis as a potential star and offered a scholarship shortly after that visit. In fact, Davis says his contact with USC has all happened very recently.

That doesn't seem to matter. The Miami Hurricane commit is interested in visiting USC.

"I'm not sure yet but most likely in the summer, I should be going out to Cali," Davis said. "Take a little visit out there to see how the other side of the world is. I can't predict what's out there, I've been living in Miami for so long."

The 5-foot-9 and 187-pounder is obviously intrigued by the West Coast and Southern California. But he's also intrigued by what USC has to offer as a football program.

"USC is a big program in Cali," Davis said. "A lot of big time players came out of there. One of my favorite players, Reggie Bush, came out of there. And a guy from Central went up there too, Jamel Cook."

So does USC have a chance to pull this prospect out of South Florida?

"I can't predict the future," Davis said when asked if USC has a chance to sign him. "As long as USC builds a great relationship, we'll see how things fall into place."
