USC trailed by a point after a pair of UCLA free throws with 9 seconds left before senior guard Jonah Mathews brought the ball up court, found some space on the left side of the floor and drained a step-back 3-pointer in the waning seconds.

That momentous shot from the Trojans' newly-minted all-time leading 3-point shooter sent USC to a 54-52 win over the rival Bruins inside Galen Center on Saturday.
