After months and months of rumors that Rivals100 athlete Devon Williams would eventually commit to Oregon, Williams decided to play his college football in Southern California. The product of Antelope Valley HS in Lancaster, Calif. committed to USC over the Ducks on ESPN2's National Signing Day Special.

Williams did so graciously without any of theatrics that have become so common during announcements. His humble demeanor can be explained by a difficult childhood.

"It was pretty tough," Williams said on ESPN2's National Signing Day Special. "I just didn't have a stable home so I bounced around and just when I did find that stable home I just turned it up to academics and my football career and that just changed my life for the rest of my life and just as well as my family life."

His commitment to academics and athletics led him to USC. The Trojans are historically the class of the Pac-12 in football and Williams also sees opportunities outside of the field.

"Just because of the resources and what life gives you after your college career," Williams said. "It's just a great opportunity to be there."

He also confirmed that USC will use him as a receiver during the ESPN2 special. Williams is the one of six Rivals100 prospect to sign with USC in the 2018 class.
