If you haven't heard of JaCorey "Lil Dulow" Jones, you're missing out on an emerging local football star in the 2018 class.

The 6-foot-1 and 165-pound prospect, formerly of Dorsey HS, now plays football for powerhouse Gardena Serra HS. And with months and months to go before signing day, he has already gathered scholarship offers from Marshall and TCU.

His scholarship offer from the Horned Frogs propelled his name onto the national recruiting scene. If you had just recently heard of Jones, you might know of him because of that offer.

The opportunity to play at TCU also had another impact. It's made Jones confident that he could have a big future playing football.

"Honestly, it made me stand out," Jones told TrojanSports.com when asked about his TCU offer. "Like this is my talent."

But Jones is used to standing out because he has other talents. If you had only recently heard of Jones, there's actually a chance you know him without recognizing him. That's because he was once known as a rap protégé of Nick Cannon's and Ray J's.

But USC's coaches, like coaches from the Thundering Herd and the Horned Frogs, are interested in Jones' athletic ability. Tee Martin has been recruiting the young prospect to potentially look into USC.

"There's some looks," Jones said when asked how USC is recruiting him. "Whenever they come up to Serra, we talk a little bit. Every time they come up to practice to watch us play."

He returned USC's interest with a visit to its campus on Wednesday.

"I love the campus," Jones said.

Jones has actually been a regular at USC recently. He was at the spring game but on this visit, he was able to get a closer look at the school and meet more coaches. And right now, he believes USC's staff could eventually make him a priority recruit.

"They could do it soon," Jones said when asked if felt USC could offer a scholarship.

If Jones had an opportunity to be a Trojan, he admits it would be a very big deal.

"That would be big to me honestly," Jones said of a potential USC offer. "It's a good fit. They have good people who I could look up to like Jack Jones and Adoree' (Jackson) who just left to go to the NFL."

Outside of Marshall, USC and TCU, Cal is also recruiting Jones a bit. And all those schools seem to have an idea on where to play Jones. While he's listed as an athlete by Rivals.com, Jones believes his future position is set.

"Right now, I play DB and receiver but I think I might want to focus on DB more," Jones said. "A lot of schools love me at DB because I'm a little bigger than average."

But he currently doesn't have any upcoming campus visits planned. That might be because he's not in any rush to make a commitment.

"I'm just going to stay patient before the season starts," Jones said.
